REG RUNDLE

Qualifications or experience relevant to Board membership:
A retired Certified Accountant, with a wide range of financial, selling and computer experience covering national organisations, PLC's, charitable organisations and retail operations. A founder member of the Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust and currently the Treasurer. I have been a local School Governor for over 14 years and a WWFC Season Ticket Holder since the early 1990's.

Describe in not more than 500 words, your reasons for wishing to become a member of the board of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club PLC and why members should vote for you.
The reason that I joined the original working party, which eventually formed the Supporters Trust, was my concern at the financial state of the Wycombe Wanderers Football Club Limited (by guarantee). The history of the Club since the decision to allow a PLC to take over the running of the Club is well know to you all. I publicly explained through the press my reasons for not agreeing to the change. Since then the Trust as well as the PLC have been formed and the Trust acquired the necessary funds to obtain the 100,000 shares which entitles us to elect a member to serve on the PLC board.
It is my opinion that the PLC have not achieved the financial security promised by the change, and it is still struggling to obtain and retain a financial future for the Club. Before the PLC it was obvious that the board members set out their stall to get a PLC without considering a plan B, and it appears little has changed since. We are still relying on board members' loan notes to keep the Club in funds. Only by having a PLC director from the trust who will be prepared to ask questions and to examine proposals for the future development of the financial and playing development of the Football Club will we be able to ensure that the supporters of the Club have an input to the Club's future and the protection of its heritage. My working experiences relate to dealing with finance, new innovations and working with people. These are skills which I can bring to this role.
Supporters will get upset over poor service at the bars, high prices of admission, frequent changes of kit and a multitude of other issues, most of which should be resolved by a caring organisation. A supporters' director can certainly ensure that these things are properly dealt with to avoid future misunderstanding. However, future methods of financing and the long-term arrangement with Wasps are issues which will need resolving in the very near future.
My concern, and why I wish to represent the Trust on the PLC board is over the future of the Football Club. To be effective a Trust representative has to earn the respect and credibility of both the Trust and the board and to have the ability to communicate both ways. Having a second representative on the PLC board from the Founders Trust is a benefit, which we must use effectively. There will be occasions when confidential information will not allow communication to the supporters. I see the role of as PLC director representing the Trust as a constructive partnership with the aim of securing the long-term future of the Football Club on the playing field, and its solvency and stability off the field.
