As of Monday 17th April 2006, Andy has received donations totalling £6,750. This includes cash collected from supporters at the matches vs Mansfield and Oxford in addition to a collection from the players. Andy easily exceeded his initial target of £5,000. Thank you to all those who sponsored and supported Andy in this effort.

The photograph above shows Andy (RHS looking at the photograph) presenting a cheque for £3,375 to Francis Glenister, Chairman, Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust (LHS looking at the photograph) and Reg Rundle, Treasurer, Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust. The presentation was made before the match versus Lincoln City, Monday 17th April 2006.

A second presentation of the cheque was made on the pitch before the Darlington match on Saturday 29th April 2006.

Starting on Wednesday 1st March, Andy completed the 70 mile walk in time to attend the match vs Cheltenham on Saturday, 4th March 2006. Along the way Andy became something of a media star - he appeared on BBC 3 Counties Radio on the Friday evening together with talkSPORT radio and BBC Radio Gloucestershire on the Saturday. On all the radio programmes, Andy was able to promote the causes for which he is raising sponsorship. The walk culminated in an interview on the pitch at Cheltenham and a lap around the ground, during which supporters from both sides gave Andy a well deserved standing ovation. Tired and sore but elated by his achievement and the reception that he recieved, Andy celebrated with a meal out in Cheltenham on Saturday night and a night's sleep in a local hotel. The walk raised funds for both Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust and the fund that has been established in memory of Mark Philo. Andy paid his own costs associated with the walk and all money raised will be split 50/50 between the Supporters Trust and the memorial fund.

Speaking before the walk Andy said:
"The idea of doing this walk came to me after seeing the Bees Trust at Brentford doing their sponsored cycle ride from Berkshire to Griffin Park. This raised a lot of money for their Club. The idea of splitting the proceeds of my walk to Cheltenham comes from a central idea of the Supporters Trust movement, i.e. that there should be a strong community aspect to fund raising by trusts. The death of Mark Philo was an appalling event and I want to help his family by raising some additional funds, so that his life can be remembered for a long time to come. Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust needs to raise further funding to pay for its shareholding in Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. Once this is achieved, the Trust will have the ability to become involved in other community based projects.

I hope to raise £5,000 - £10,000 from this walk, which will all go directly to the 2 recipients as I am funding any costs, such as hotels, myself. I also hope that my efforts will encourage other people to get involved and participate in direct fund-raising both for the Supporters Trust and other local charities."

Married with 2 daughters, Andy is 49 years old and has followed Wycombe since 1970. Andy is a Founder Member of the Football Club, a member of the Supporters Trust, a member of the Founders Trust and President of the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association.
