Comment on the purchase by Steve Hayes of a significant shareholding in Wasps

The Boards of Wycombe Wanderers Founders Trust and Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust notes the announcement by Steve Hayes, Managing Director and major shareholder in Wycombe Wanderers Football Club PLC, that he has purchased an 11% shareholding in London Wasps Holdings Limited, the company that owns London Wasps and has also joined the board of London Wasps.

The full implications of this development will take time to become apparent. The Boards of the Trusts will monitor the situation closely through our PLC Directors and report to our members on any relevant developments that require their attention. In particular the Boards of the Trusts would oppose any move, such as merging the companies controlling Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps, which places the interests of Wasps on either an equal footing with, or ahead of, those of Wycombe Wanderers.
