Statement on Possible New Ground
The Board of Wycombe Wanderers Trust has noted Wycombe District Council's statement that it is considering the development of a new stadium on the Booker Air Park site to "help the two clubs with their joint objective of securing a replacement stadium for Adams Park". The Bucks Herald report of 24 July 2008, which contains the WDC statement, explains that the Council, Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps will undertake a feasibility study in the next six months.
From the recent coverage (both the Bucks Herald story of 24th July 2008 and the Bucks Free Press article of 6th June 2008), Members might believe that the PLC Board has already committed to pursue a new stadium. In fact, the Trusts' PLC Directors, Keith Blagbrough and Ian Mather, are clear that the PLC Board has taken a decision to look at all options for a new ground in the Wycombe area, but as no detailed proposals nor projections are currently available to the Plc Board, no agreement has been reached as to whether a new ground would be right for Wycombe Wanderers.
As and when any detailed proposal is made available for any proposed new ground, the Trusts' Boards intend to make members aware of the details and to discuss the proposal with members as early in the process as possible.
