Season Ticket Prices 2008/09

The Trusts' Boards had the chance to consider the Club's season ticket pricing proposals prior to their announcement.

Through our PLC Directors, we commented as follows:

- We are concerned that in general football is expensive compared with alternative leisure pursuits;

- The proposal to allow Under 10s free season tickets was very welcome;

- Bearing in mind that prices were held, and terrace prices reduced, last season and comparing the prices with competitor clubs, overall the proposed price rises did not seem excessive;

- However we are concerned that the price of a new (non-renewal) season ticket is high compared with the likely matchday prices;

- We feel that there should be a cash turnstile to encourage attendance by those who can not buy in advance;

- And, it is important to allow sufficient time for fans to renew at the renewal prices.

Following discussion at the PLC Board, we are pleased that the possibility of introducing a cash turnstile will be kept under review next season.
The Club have undertaken to monitor the length of queues for ticket offices and will reintroduce a cash turnstile if queues are thought to be too long.
We are also pleased that the time allowed for making renewals was extended.
