Approximately 80 members of Wycombe
Wanderers Supporters Trust and Wycombe Wanderers Founders Trust
attended a meeting on Thursday 28th June 2007 to discuss a potential
merger between the two Trusts. Members listened to a presentation
that outlined the background to the formation of the two Trusts,
their many similarities and why the Boards of the two Trusts believe
that a merger of the Trusts makes sense. This was followed by
a question and answer session.
In order to gauge reaction to the proposals and the discussion,
a show of hands was sought on the motion:
"That both Trusts seek to finalise arrangements to merge into a single Wycombe Wanderers Trust including if required paying for professional advice."
This motion was carried overwhelmingly with more than 70 votes in favour and 2 against. Abstentions were not recorded.
Accordingly the Boards are
pursuing this matter and will contact members in due course when
detailed proposals are available for consideration.
Following the meeting, a number of representations about this
matter have been made to the Trust Boards, especially regarding
the name of a merged Trust. The Trusts are grateful for these
representations and will consider all matters raised by members,
The presentation made at the meeting and a summary of the Question
and Answer session can be downloaded below.
Anyone who wishes to make comments on this matter can email the Trusts' Chairmen - see details below.
